    Financial Controller

    We are looking for a financial controller to join our small, London based, finance team on an initial six month probation period. The financial controller will report to the chief operating officer. The role is ‘hands-on’ and the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day management of the financial function of the business. The role has one direct report to line manage.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Produce the monthly consolidated management accounts for two UK entities, one US entity and one Asia entity, including commentary and analysis on budget variances and report the information directly to the Board
    • Manage the weekly finance dashboard and provide information for the six weekly senior leadership team meeting
    • Assist the external accountants with the year-end accounts
    • Budget preparation and forecast
    • Manage the company invoicing process
    • Manage the company database system PSA
    • Payroll
    • VAT preparation
    • Manage cash flow
    • Oversee and implement company expenses policy
    • Oversee all tax and regulatory compliance issues
    • Oversee and manage international offices financial matters and statutory requirements
    • Motivate, support and develop direct report
    • Constantly look for improvements in the work process

    The Candidate:
    The successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) qualified with at least two years’ post qualification experience. They should have at least one year’s experience of preparing consolidated management accounts and have experience of working with people at different levels of an organisation and feel confident in reporting to, and working with, senior staff. They need to have the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems. They should be a motivated and energetic individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

    Essential Skills:

    • Excellent knowledge of IT, particularly MS Excel
    • Experience of working with Sage 50
    • Absolute understanding of debits and credits, accruals and accountancy principles
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Good people and communication skills
    • Excellent English (written and verbal)
