When a crisis strikes or an issue is emerging, it is essential that you can explain your position to all of your stakeholder groups, including government, regulators, and NGOs at a local, national and sometimes international level. This course gives practical guidance on this vital aspect of reputation management.
To manage stakeholder communication effectively organisations need to:
- know who their stakeholders are and how to contact them as well as having a thorough understanding of their protocols and working practices; and
- have staff who are skilled influencers and communicators and can manage the relationship with these key stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
This course addresses both areas.
It begins with Stakeholder Mapping, including a review of organisations such as local and national governments, the EU and international bodies as well as the regulators and NGOs specific to your industry. It looks at working practices, explains the priorities and jurisdiction of each and provides expert guidance on how to manage relationships with them.
Once the protocols at an organisational level are understood, successful stakeholder communication relies on relationships between individuals.
The second section of the course will help participants to understand their own personal influencing and communication style before providing advice around how to nurture key relationships and explain the organisation's position in a compelling and appropriate manner.
